Grammar Police on Patrol: Not So Scholarly
Congratulations, CUNY! It's nice to see that despite the fact that you've had two Truman Scholars in the last two years, you have not used any of your newfound educational capital to inform your marketing department that the use of the numbers 2 and 4 as replacements "to" and "for" is not grammatically correct. Keep up the good work!Earlier in Grammar Police on Patrol: Luck of the Irish, Early Edition, Patrolling Union Square

2 Moments of Idiocy:
they just be keeping it real yo.
Oh my gosh I was going to lash into this ad as soon as I found a decent photograph, but I see you've beaten me to the chase.
Personally, I enjoy the allusion to sports wins, as if students regarded academic winners the same as college athletic stars. (If only). And if only the font wasn't so awful, or the grammar so nauseating... or anything, really.
I also can never shake the feeling that CUNY looks like another 4 letter cun- word.
Nothing against the school, of course.
