It's free for a reason

amNewYork is crap.

It causes track fires, spews vulgarities, promotes strip clubs, and now... ignores the biggest stories of the day.

Today's sports "section" had five stories in it: Barry Bonds approaching #714 (nobody cares, everyone hates him), a story about the rape accuser at Duke (not sports news, morons), the Mets' Billy Wagner's opinion on their series with the Phillies (give the big mouth more face time), a brief preview of the Mets-Phillies series (fair enough), and a piece of Ben Wallace being named NBA Defensive Player of the Year (N-B-what?).

I'm sorry, did you forget something? Like THE BIGGEST RIVALRY IN SPORTS BEING PLAYED OUT IN THE BRONX TONIGHT?

I guess I'm a Metro reader now. They had two articles on the Sox and Yanks today. And unlike amNewYork, they didn't eliminate their opinion page. Seriously, who does that?!?

You should have been turned into a Metro reader after AMNY ran the "Sore Cheeks" story about thick milkshakes needing thick straws. And this story ran in the news section...not what I consider a good news story.

Well, you know what they say about milkshakes...they bring ALL the boys to the yard. Sorry that NYC sucks, Chris...

Yeah, that's not exactly hard news.

I wish the Metro boxes on my street were more than just trash receptacles, though. I had to go searching for a Metro hawker this morning.
